Troop Activities

We attempt Troop Camping at least one weekend per month.  Typical cost
for a weekend campout is $8-$10 per scout for food, due the meeting before the campout.

"A scout is Thrifty" This scout law means, among other things, that a scout works to pay his own way.  All scouts are responsible for their own expenses.  The troop will have multiple fund-raising opportunities throughout the year to support this.

Troop and Patrol provisions:

The Troop provides an assortment of equipment for the scouts’ use:
·        A Troop trailer to carry all of the gear
·        Camping gear (tents, lanterns, stoves, water jugs, etc)
·        A Troop first aid kit

A Patrol Box, dry goods supplies, which will be maintained by the Scouts themselves

An up-to-date Medical Form must be on file for all registered Scouts.

Our Troop Rules:

We are a Boy Run Troop.  This means, among other things, that our Scouts have decided on their own rules.

The adults are present to create a safe and healthy environment with the training and resources that the Scouts need, and then let them do it.  It can be a very messy business, and painful to watch.  Meetings where the boy leaders are in charge can be very chaotic.  But we have to remember, that is the process of Scouting. That is how they learn—even from disorganization and failure.

The Troop rules
No swearing
Keep your hands to yourself
No name calling
Listen to others
HAVE FUN!!!!
